Building your Smoothie

Leafy greens: kale, Swiss chard, cos, rocket, spinach, dandelion greens, beet greens, nettle, parsley, mint, basil

Protein: Almonds, brazils, cashews, chi, flax, hemp protein powder, whey, brown rice, tofu, nut butters, green powder

Veg: Broccoli, carrots, cucumber, celery, tomatoes, peppers

Fruit: Berries, kiwis, bananas, melon, mango, pineapple, lemon, lime, apple, pear

Fibre: veg. fruit and seeds, psyllium husks

Fat: Avocado, coconut oil, nut butters, nuts and seeds

Liquid: Dairy free, plant based milk like coconut, almond, oat, hemp. Coconut water, water, herbal tea.

Digestion enhancers: Cinnamon, ginger, lemon, cardamom, cayenne(small amount), cacao powder

It’s good to use less fruit and more veg, protein and fibre to keep blood sugar balanced and sustained energy release. I recommend 1-2 serving of fruit depending on the person. Berries are best really, and lemon/lime can be extra. More liquid makes it nice and thin to drink easier. Small handful of greens is plenty. Lemon aids absorption of iron.
